Arielle Charnas, a fashion blogger and new mom, recently had a pretty difficult experience while flying across the country for the holidays.
Arielle was traveling with her 8-month-old baby Ruby for the first time in late December 2016. As if traveling with an infant isn’t stressful enough, Ruby was fussy the whole night before.
Because Arielle knew Ruby might be difficult on the flight, as babies often are, she and her husband purchased first-class tickets so they could have a little more space to take care of Ruby’s needs on the plane.
Arielle was already dreading the long flight from New York City to Los Angeles, but when Ruby wouldn’t sleep the night before, Arielle stayed up to try and calm her. By the time they got to their flight, both Ruby and Arielle were exhausted, cranky, and not looking forward to the six-hour flight.
But then things went from bad to worse. Ruby kept fussing on the plane, and no matter what Arielle and her husband did, they couldn’t get her to quiet down.
Arielle claims the other people in first class glared at them, angry that they had to sit near a crying baby.
Arielle says she tried to ignore the harsh glances, but after a few more minutes, a flight attendant approached her and told her she needed to move to the back of the plane.
